HSE and training organisations to offer free asbestos training

Despite the fact that it should not be present in buildings that have been built or refurbished at least within the last 10 years, each week approximately 20 tradespeople die from asbestos related diseases.

HSE and training providers are working together to promote and provide a number of free asbestos awareness training places. During October and November, training providers will be delivering free training across the country.

Violence at Work - Vicarious Liability

We came across an interesting couple of cases that clearly set out two different sets of circumstances in which an employee sought to hold their employer vicariously liable for the violent actions of a fellow employee.  One was agreed whilst the other was not…
 
 
It has been said in some quarters that vicarious liability is an old fashioned aspect that doesn't really feature in modern civil/compensation/liability arguments!
